The world premiere of Safe House by innovative theatre company Metro-Boulot-Dodo was held in the centre of Hove Park as part of the 2014 Brighton Festival. It uses large scale projections, stunning aerial dispalys, & dramatic visual effects to explore the emotional space that exists between a house & a home. The one night, free event was watched by a large crowd & was given an Argus Angel Award by the newspaper's reviewers as one of the best Festival shows.

Preparing the stage

Setting up the performance required a lot of work beforehand, from bringing in the necessary generators, through erecting the stage and scaffolding to checking out the sound around the park.

This mobile generator was being brought in in the early evening of May 12th. It wasn't quite as tight a fit as it looks!

By the next day, many of the components were in the park, awaiting assembly.
